KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Government has on Thursday started considering setting up new organization, named Pakistan International Airways. Pakistan International Airline (PIA) employees’ protest has literally crippled the organization so the government has started considering forming a new institution, reported Dunya News.

According to details, PIA is under extreme financial pressure due to the ongoing protests, sit-ins and strike for the last 10 days while the closing down of the flight operations 3 days back literally crippled the national airline.

An important meeting was presided over by Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif at Prime Minister House today. The meeting was informed that PIA doesn’t have the funds to provide salaries for the month of March. The meeting also considered returning all the leased planes to keep the payments in flow. PIA currently has 13 A-320 planes in its fleet and these planes are on lease.

The meeting considered setting up a new company in the name of Pakistan International Airways in view of the deficit faced by PIA.
