Summary 2-member bench headed by Justice Dost Muhammad to hear appeals against military courts' sentences

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) is going to hear the appeals against the military courts’ decisions. The 2-member bench headed by Justice Dost Muhammad is going to hear the appeals against the sentences, reported Dunya News.

According to details, 5 suspects filed appeals before the SC against the sentences handed them by the military courts and maintained that they weren’t given the right for free trial by the military court. They maintained that the suspects must be given free trial to ensure justice.

Accepting all 5 appeals for hearing, Chief Justice formed a two-member bench comprising Justice Dost Muhammad and Justice Faaiz Isa. The bench will start hearing the cases from February 9.

It is pertinent to mention here that Ali al-Rehman, Nek Maro, Alif Khan, Muhammad Ayaz and Sakhi Muhammad had been handed death sentences by the military courts upon anti-Pakistan activities. The relatives of the five people have moved Supreme Court.
