Summary Finance Minister slammed OGRA officials during economic coordination committee's meeting

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Electricity tariff for the industries will be reduced by Rs 3 per unit. The decision was made during Economic Coordination Committee’s (ECC) meeting headed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar where he slammed Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) officials. ECC also approved NEPRA’s guideline, reducing the power tariff by Rs. 3 per unit, reported Dunya News.

According to details, Ishaq Dar and the OGRA officials had a difference of opinion on gas infrastructure development tax. Many of the matters were left undecided during the meeting. Finance Minister expressed annoyance with OGRA officials’ stance. The ECC meeting remained unclear on many of the issues and another meeting has been summoned on Friday. The meeting also discussed the import of LNG from Qatar but a decision could not be reached. The matter will now be discussed again during the Friday meeting.

ECC also failed to discuss the summary to provide 2-month salaries to the Steel Mills employees and the discussion on the summary for free wheat for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) was also postponed.

According to sources, both these matters will also be discussed now during the Friday meeting.
