KARACHI (Dunya News) – The families including mothers and children spent another night under the open sky in cold as the local administration razed Sindh Assembly s servant quarters to construct a parking area for the lawmakers.
The women made breakfast by making stoves from woods and bricks.
The homeless persons said that the legislature body has snatched everything from them, leaving them homeless for the purpose of making parking area. They urged the federation to hear their pleas.
On the other hand, tents have been raised in front of the razed quarters to hide the scene from the visiting members.
According to details, no other accommodation or compensation has been provided to the residents by the Sindh government whereas no prior notice was issued regarding eviction.
Meanwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hasan while showing solidarity with the afectees stated that no one should be left helpless in the metropolis. He said that no government representative has come to the homeless residents.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Haleem Adil Sheikh had arranged a relief bus for the affected residents in which basic facilities including washroom and kitchen are present.
