QUETTA (Dunya News) – Two terrorists were gunned down in an encounter with security forces during search operation in Pasni area, Dunya News reported Tuesday.
Sources said that troops were patrolling ward number two when militants opened fire at them.
Security forces reciprocated the fire resulting in two killings. The forces seized weapons from the militants’ possession.
However, the two bodies were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) and have not been identified until filing of this report.
Separately, FC and intelligence agency conducted a joint operation in Bela’s Winder area and killed four operatives of banned outfit.
FC spokesperson said that the operation was carried out on a tip-off. The personnel seized grenades, SMGs and other advanced weapons from their possession. The officials also said that the killed militants were involved in ransom kidnapping, extortion, drug smuggling and attacks on security forces.
On January 18, six Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel were martyred and one injured among others in an explosion near Margit Checkpost in Quetta.
Security forces arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area while the injured persons were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
The roadside bomb targeted vehicle of the security personnel in Margit area, around 30 kilometres (around 19 miles) east of the provincial capital.
IG FC Major Gen Sher Afgan stated that sacrifices of martyrs will not go waste. Frontier Constabulary will continue to serve until peace is restored across the province.

Pakistan is one of only three countries where polio remains endemic but attempts to eradicate it have been badly hit by opposition from militants and attacks on immunisation teams that have claimed more than 80 lives since December 2012.
