Army chief expresses grief over demise of Mian Amer Mahmood's father

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Monday phoned Chairman Dunya Media Group, and Punjab Group of Colleges (PGC), Mian Amer Mahmood to condole his father Mian Zahoor ul-Haq’s death, reported Dunya News.

Expressing grief over the sad demise of Mian Amer’s father, army chief prayed for his father’s forgiveness and perseverance for the relatives of the deceased.

Mian Amer’s father died earlier today at the age of 89. He was suffering from paralysis. His funeral prayer was offered in Model Town Block – E’s mosque today. He was buried at Murrian Graveyard in Model Town in the presence of thousands of mourners.

Former mayor Lahore and Chairman Punjab Group of Colleges Mian Amer Mahmood’s father has passed away, Dunya News reported Monday.

Funeral prayer of late Mian Zahoorul Haq was offered after Asar prayers (4:15pm) at Jamia Mosque E Block Model Town.

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, President Mamnoon Hussain among four Chief Ministers (CM) have offered condolences to the bereaved family. Punjab Governor Rafiq Rajwana, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly (NA) Khursheed Shah and Azad Kashmir PM Chaudhry Abdul Majeed have expressed solidarity.

Leaders of different political parties including Imran Khan, Sirajul Haq, Liaqat Baloch, Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan and Fazlur Rehman and offered condolences to the grieving family.

Others who have sympathized are DIG Aftab Cheema, SSP Raja Riffat, Sohail Ahmed, Supreme Court Bar President Barrister Ali Zafar, Secretary Asad Manzoor Butt and Pakistan Bar Council Vice-Chairman Azam Nazeer Tarrar.
