Summary Balochistan and Sindh are giving lesser funds for CPEC: Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal said on Saturday that the reservations and objections, related to the issue of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), on Punjab are baseless and illogical. He was addressing a seminar in Lahore, reported Dunya News.

According to details, Ahsan Iqbal said that energy projects have been given emphasis in CPEC to meet the growing energy requirements of the country. He said that out of forty-six billion dollars, thirty-five billion dollars investment will be made in the power sector. He said that some people had reservations on CPEC but Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has cleared the misperceptions.

Ahsan said that Sindh is the major recipient of investment in power sector followed by Balochistan and Punjab, so this idea that Punjab is getting a bigger share of profits and perks, is wrong. Ahsan Iqbal said that the development of road infrastructure will lead to economic activity in all areas of the country, especially the backward ones.
