Summary Chandio says 10 ATCs will be formed in few weeks, task force to be formed to safeguard witnesses
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Qaim Ali Shah chaired the meeting of Sindh Apex Committee on Tuesday in Karachi to review security situation and was attended by Corps Commander Karachi Naveed Mukhtar and Director General (DG) Rangers Karachi Bilal Akhtar and other higher officials of law enforcing institutions, reported Dunya News.
It was told in the meeting that during the operation against the criminals in Sindh around 10,738 raids were made, 203 persons have been arrested on hate speech allegations and 736 cases have been made. It was told that 2,353 Afghan citizens were also arrested, 4 suspects have been arrested on charge of aiding terrorists while two cases have been registered.
After the meeting during a briefing to the media the Information Adviser to CM Sindh, Moula Bakhsh Chandio said that during the meeting it was decided to form safe houses and a force to safeguard witnesses. He said that in coming few weeks ten Anti-Terrorism courts (ATCs) will be operational.
Chandio said that for promoting inter-faith harmony an approval has been made in the meeting to form Peace Committees on district level. Chandio told that Corps Commander has assured to give full cooperation to conduct census.
Chandio further added that the meeting was conducted in a pleasant atmosphere and that the ‘enemies’ of Sindh government were disappointed today to watch all the institutions sitting together with Sindh government. He said that disagreement with Rangers was not due to Dr. Asim’s case and that they have never opposed the Karachi operation against criminals.
