Summary Audit of the Federal Ministries shall be conducted in cooperation with the NAB: Auditor-General

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Auditor-General of Pakistan Rana Asad Amin on Monday stated that a policy to end all corruption was being formed in collaboration with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The Auditor-General stated that an exclusive audit of the Federal Ministries shall be conducted in cooperation with the Bureau.

Addressing the International Audit Performance workshop and in a talk with the media, Amin stated that both NAB and Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) work could be cut down by half if the audit department carried out its responsibilities.

Amin informed that an audit of the Trade Ministry shall be conducted in the first phase of Federal Ministries of audit during this year. During this audit, reason behind both the success and inability of the department in achieving the set goals will be analyzed, stated Amin.

The Auditor-General further stated a report pertaining to the sale of Pakistani Embassy’s property in Tokyo and Jakarta has been sent to the Public Accounts Committee. He added that the Embassies will submit their answers by 30th March in light of which further action shall be taken.
