Benazir Bhutto was the daughter of former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto who founded the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) which has enjoyed a position as the leading and sometimes 2nd leading party of the country.

Bhutto was assassinated at an election campaign rally on December 27, 2007, the responsibility of which was claimed by banned terrorist outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban.
