LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) on Sunday has geared up action against party members who showed poor performance in NA-122 by-poll.

In this regard, the party has dismissed its Lahore women wing president Dr Zarqa from her post.

Rubina Jamil has been made the president instead.

Besides this, proposal is also under consideration to reinstitute the women department after dissolving it completely.

PTI has decided to take action against party leadership that showed disinterest in Lahore’s by-election.

An initial report about NA-122 by-poll was presented to the PTI chairman Imran Khan, listing the names of those whose performance remained poor during the elections.

Imran Khan has also given approval to Punjab organization to take action against negligent leaders.

Moreover, Chaudhary Sarwar has been given charge to take action against the relevant group.

In a closely contested by-election on October 11, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Ayaz Sadiq retained NA-122 Lahore seat by defeating PTI’s Aleem Khan with a margin of 2,443 votes.

The NA-122 constituency fell vacant after an election tribunal voided Sadiq s victory there in 2013 over election-day irregularities.
