Summary Commission will be able to take suo moto action by itself.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Qaim Ali Shah has ordered formation of an accountability commission on Wednesday. Legislation is underway to pave way for Sindh Accountability Commission, reported Dunya News.
Sindh government has decided to form the commission in order to minimize the interference from federal institutions. The framework of the commission has been laid down and it is expected that it will be given considerable powers. Sindh Provincial Anti-Corruption Agency will be integrated into the Accountability Commission. Chairman of the provincial accountability commission will be retired judge or a former bureaucrat.
The chairman will be appointed for duration of 3 years. Chairman will appoint its own board of directors and the commission will be able to take suo moto action. Commission accountable to the provincial government and will be able to take action against government, private organizations, officers and politicians.
