Summary He also called the tax system a total sham
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Opposition leader Khurshid Shah expressed concern over rise in price of petroleum products on Tuesday. He said that it is the first time in history that government is increasing tax on diesel by 50%, reported Dunya News.
Khurshid Shah said that oil prices are consistently dropping in global markets while government has kept the price of furnace oil, petrol and diesel at a constant level. Expressing concern over rising prices, he said that daily consumption of diesel in the country is about 20,000 metric tons.
Criticizing the government, Khurshid Shah said that Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar talks about ‘record reserves’ whether the government is only making records for ‘taking loans’, adding that Dar does not tell what benefit will come to common man if the reserves are being filled. He also called the tax system a total sham and said that it had failed to deliver.
