Summary Police officials have said that any kind of terrorism threat will be thwarted
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Police has decided to conduct daily raids in cattle markets in light of threat of terrorists posing as cattle owners. More than 8000 police personnel have been assigned duties for monitoring the situation while government has also cancelled holidays of the personnel as well, reported Dunya News.
Security has been beefed up due to recent revelations that terrorists might attempt to infiltrate the ranks of cattle owners in markets as Eid approaches.
According to police, security plan has been divided into two parts. In the first stage, search operation will be conducted to stop terrorists while additional contingents will be posted at entry and exit points of the city.
In the second phase, additional troops and special security measures will be taken at mosques, Imam Bargahs and places of worship. Police officials have said that any kind of terrorism threat will be thwarted adding that citizens must also play an active role.
