Summary Sadiq is not eligible to contest under Article 62 and Article 63, plea states
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday has challenged former National Assembly (NA) speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s eligibility in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
PTI’s candidate Shoaib Siddiqui challenged Sadiq’s eligibility as election candidate for NA-122 constituency in the ECP. The plea filed in the ECP states that Sadiq was fined at least Rs 25 lac however, he neither paid the fine nor got stay from the court.
Thus, the petition further states that Sadiq is not eligible under Article 62 and Article 63. The plea requests the ECP to declare Sadiq ineligible for the election.
