Another person succumbs to injuries, death toll of Multan blast rises to 11

MULTAN (Dunya News) – Another wounded person who was under treatment in Nishtar Hospital after Vehari Chowk blast on Monday succumbed to injuries taking the death toll to 11.

A speeding motorcycle crashed into a rickshaw at Vehari Chowk that resulted in a blast claiming 11 lives including a two-year-old child. The injured, 62 were shifted to Nishtar Hospital. According to the latest reports, 11 of the injured persons are still battling for their lives as their conditions are not stable.

District administration has appealed to the locals once again to donate blood while emergency imposition continues in the hospital. A heavy contingent of police has taken supervision of the hospital administration.

The police have issued a preliminary report of the blast. The report states that the personnel have recovered ball bearings from the site while key evidences were also collected. The police have said that the target of the blast was somebody else and thus remained unharmed.

Central Police Officer (CPO) and Regional Police Officer (RPO) carried out a search operation and registered a case against unidentified miscreants. District and highcourt bars are observing strike today against the attack.

Funeral prayer of one person killed in the blast has been offered today. The prayer was offered in a ground near the blast site. A huge number of people participated and paid their respects.
