JEDDAH (Dunya News) – At least 47 Pakistani pilgrims, 25 Bangladeshis and 10 Indians were among 238 injured in Makkah crane crash.

A massive construction crane collapsed into Makkah s Grand Mosque in stormy weather on Friday, killing at least 107 people and injuring 238, Saudi authorities said, days before the annual hajj pilgrimage.

The civil defence agency said that emergency teams were sent to the scene after a "crane fell at the Grand Mosque," one of Islam s most revered sites..

According to the Saudi civil defence authority around 238 people were injured in the incident and they are currently being treated in the nearby hospitals.

An emergency call centre has been established for Pakistanis to contact their loved ones in Saudi Arabia whereas a medical team is also participating in rescue activities.

According to Saudi officials, as many as seven Pakistanis identified as Saif Ullah Khan, Zia Ullah, Ghulam Zahra, Allah Bakhsh, Abid Hussain, Imanullah and Abdul Haq are under treatment at Al-noor Specialist Hospital. About five people Imam Safdar, Sakina Bibi, Ambaro Bibi, Tajraha and Naveed Zahra were taken to King Faisal Specialist Hospital while four injured enlisted as Ruksana Arshad, Sadaqat Begum, Zahid Shah and Qadir Gull were shifted to Hajjaj-al-Zahra Hospital.

The Pakistani nationals who are getting medical assistance at King Abdul Aziz Hospital include Asghar Khan, Bagh Mali Khan, Zareena Parveen, Ruksana Bibi, Tasleem Ahmed and Muhammad Farooq.

Hospital sources stated that majority of the people have suffered fractures and head injuries.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia visited hospitals and stated that he is in contact with Saudi government. He said that the administration is gathering all the information regarding injured people.
