Summary Prime Minister and President prayed for the departed souls.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain have expressed deep grief and sorrow on the demise of the pilgrims in Makkah crane collapse incident, the Radio Pakistan reported on Saturday. 

On Friday, a massive construction crane crashed into Makkah s Grand Mosque in stormy weather, killing at least 107 people and injuring more than 200, Saudi authorities said, days before the annual hajj pilgrimage.

In their separate statements, the Prime Minister and President prayed for the departed souls and sympathized with the bereaved families.

Nawaz Sharif has directed Pakistan s Ambassador in Saudi Arabia to provide every possible help to the injured and also personally visit the patients in hospitals on his behalf.

He also gave directions to provide every possible help to families of the deceased.

Information Minster Pervaiz Rashid has also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in crane crash in the incident.

Meanwhile, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf has directed Hajj staff of Pakistan to play their role in the rescue activities.

He said DG Hajj is in constant contact with authorities in Makkah.
