Summary JUI-F leaders had expressed disapproval over Fazlur Rehman's mediation
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday succeeded in taking party leaders into confidence over his visit to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) center Nine-Zero.
The JUI-F Shura has given the permission to Fazlur Rehman to continue mediating talks between the government and MQM.
Earlier, JUI-F party leaders had expressed disapproval over Fazlur Rehman’s role in the ongoing negotiations.
JUI-F’s Shura ratified its chief’s mediation role through a resolution that was put forth by interim Secretary General Maulana Amjad Khan. In his briefing to the Shura leaders, Fazlur Rehman said he isn’t mediating as individual but is doing so on parliament’s behalf.
