FAISALABAD, KARACHI: (Dunya News) – 2 Pakistanis, while trying to cross into Turkey via Iran, died trying to cross the mountains while the remaining 5 out of the crew of 7 came back home. The 2 dead bodies arrived in Karachi and Faisalabad amid dirge, reported Dunya News.

40-year-old Khurram Shahzad and Muhammad Yousaf, along with their 5 friends, left for Turkey from Faisalabad on August 17. The agent had received Rs. 270,000 per person and had promised taking them first to Iran by-air and later to Turkey. But a human smuggler asked them to go to Iran by-foot from Quetta where they lost their lives owing to hunger and thirst. The area erupted into dirge as their dead bodies arrived.

The relatives told that they received the news of Khurram Shahzad and Yousaf’s death on August 27 and that the remaining 5 members have been taken into custody by the Iranian authorities. The agent demanded Rs. 200,000 more for the handing over of the dead bodies but when the relatives refused to pay them, the agent turned his cell number off. Shahzad’s brother Zulfiqar said that he took the dead bodies from Taftan border while the Iranian authorities deported the other 5 to Pakistan.

Demanding justice from the authorities, the relatives of the dead demanded action against the fake agents.

Such incidents have taken place in the past as well but the institutions responsible for catching these fake agents have failed due to which this notorious business is progressing.
