Summary If MQM finishes armed groups within its ranks then it must be allowed to do politics, says JI head
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami (JI) chief has on Friday said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will have to finish the armed groups within its ranks and if it does so, it must be allowed to work on all social levels, reported Dunya News.
Talking exclusively to Dunya News in Lahore, Sirajul Haq said that India’s attitude is hawkish while that of Pakistani rulers is apologetic. He said that India should be given a befitting response. He said that electoral reforms are a must for free and fair elections.
“Rangers’ operation in Karachi is a failure of the political system”, said Siraj. He added that MQM must end its armed wings.
Commenting on Jamiat Ulema Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazl ur-Rehman’s efforts to convince MQM, Sirajul Haq said that he is doing so to earn the divine reward.
JI head said that all the officials of Election Commission should be changed, not just 4 members. He said that no criminals should be allowed to hide behind political flags. “MQM should withdraw resignations”, he added.
