IHC rejects petition seeking ban on MQM

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday rejected a petition seeking ban on Altaf Hussain’s party Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

Justice Athar Minallah heard the petition filed by Barrister Masroor Shah on behalf of a citizen namely Mazhar Iqbal.

The plaintiff requested the court that a ban should be imposed on the MQM by declaring it a  party run by foreign funding. 

He alleged that MQM is a threat to the national security.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) declared petition the inadmissible, saying that it is too early to decide on the matter.
