ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday suspended two officers for not notifying the high courts about of the 23 June verdict, Dunya News reported.

According to details, Deputy Director Muhammad Saeed and Assistant Director Muhammad Ramzan were suspended and an inquiry has been launched into the matter.

Both officers had not informed the high courts about the June 23 verdict which denied election tribunals extensions.

When letters were written to the high courts on August 19, it was deemed the result of tribunals’ decisions.

The ECP says both officers’ negligence caused ECP’s maligning. An investigation had been launched into the matter and a committee has been formed under headship of Director General (DG) Admin in this regard.
