Shehbaz Sharif dismisses police officials absent from duty

Summary Punjab Government will soon be introducing Biometric Roll Call System.

LAHORE (WebDesk) – Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday dismissed 3 police officials who were found absent from duty. The dismissed police officers were appointed in Jarmot Kalan Tehsil Gujjar Khan. A complaint was lodged against the absent officers belonging to that village.

The inquiry into the event and the subsequent dismissal of the absentees was posted on Shehbaz Shareef’s official Facebook page “Mian Shehbaz Shareef”. According to the posted report, an inquiry report was ordered by the CM during the online session of “Sawal Shehbaz Shareef Se” on 23rd of August 2015.

According to details, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi’s report states that 14 police officials had been designated to the village and investigation into the event found 3 police constables, Muhammad Bilal, Muhammad Ali and Aamir Shahzad, guilty of being absent from duty. The report also states that the remaining 11 officers were found to be performing their duties on regular basis.

The original post on the official Facebook page also states that the Punjab Government will soon be introducing Biometric Roll Call System to tackle this problem.

The Inquiry report states that the dismissed officers have the right to review the decision and must approach the Punjab Service Tribunal if they wish to do so.
