LAHORE (Dunya News) – Election Tribunal reserved decisions on its applications against NA-122 and PP-147 rigging cases. The decisions will be announced on August 22, reported Dunya News.

Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq was elected on NA-122 seat in General Elections 2013, a decision which had been contested in court by Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.

Imran Khan had told the court that Ayaz Sadiq had won the elections by rigging adding that fake votes had been casted while results of polling stations had been manipulated.

Tribunal recounted the votes on Imran Khan’s application. On Imran Khan’s request once again, the votes were sent to National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for verification. According to forensic report of NADRA, irregularities of large magnitude were revealed.

Imran Khan’s had told that rigging had been proven and results of NA-122 had been declared illegal. Replying to Imran Khan’s lawyer, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s lawyer said that the statements were mere accusations adding that forensic reports did not mean that rigging had been proven.

On the other hand, Nawaz Sharif’s close relative Mohsin Latif was elected on PP-147 seat. PTI’s Shoaib Siddiqui had challenged Mohsin Latif’s win. Tribunal Judge Kazim Malik has reserved decisions in the matter. The court will announce the result on August 22.
