ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Afghanistan intelligence authorities on Wednesday have confirmed Pakistan over banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban’s (TTP) leader Mullah Omar s death.

Afghan authorities confirmed that Omar was killed at least two to three years ago. The neighbouring authorities would issue an official statement shortly. However, Foreign Office (FO) officials have said that they are in process of confirmation.

The talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan are likely to be postponed which were to be held on July 31 in Murree. 

Earlier, British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) came about the news after Afghanistan government and sources confirmed them.

The media agency approached TTP spokesperson for comment however, the officials were told the militant group would issue official statement shortly.

This not the first time when one-eyed militant, Omar has been termed dead. In the past years, TTP had issued several messages giving a sense as if they had come from Omar. Whereas a faction of TTP had earlier disclosed Omar s death.
