Summary Operation's objective is not to push MQM or any political party to the wall, says Interior Minister
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has on Tuesday said that the Rangers’ activities in Karachi are according to the law and their objective is not to push the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) or any other political party to the wall. However, MQM believes that MQM is being persecuted in the name of operation, reported Dunya News.
MQM delegation led by Dr. Farooq Sattar met Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in Islamabad to discuss the law and order situation in Sindh, especially Karachi, and the operation going on in the city.
Interior Minister said on this occasion that the operation is purely against the criminals and its objective is to restore peace in Karachi and rid of the crimes. He said that the Rangers’ activities are according to the law and their objective is not to push MQM or any party to the wall.
“Peace in Karachi is our collective responsibility and is in national interest”, said Nisar. He said that any concerns of any political party will be addressed but the national interest demands that all political forces support the Rangers in this operation.
MQM delegation said that they are in operation’s favor but MQM is being persecuted in the name of operation. MQM’s delegation included Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Barrister Said and Kanwar Naveed Jamil.
