LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday formed a full bench to hear the petition for registering a treason case against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, Dunya News reported.

LHC’s three-member larger bench comprising of Justice Mazhar Iqbal Sindhu and Justice Irum Sajjad Gul and headed by Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi will conduct the hearing.

Earlier, hearing of the petition was held in LHC. Petitioner’s lawyer Aftab Virk adopted the stance that MQM chief has made speeches against the Pakistan Army and the country but no action has yet been taken by the interior, foreign and information ministry however, the move comes in the category of treachery therefore it is requested that a treason case should be registered.

The judge remarked that the case is of sensitive nature so it would be heard by a larger bench and sent the case file to Chief Justice Manzoor Malik for the formation of a larger bench.

Moreover, notices were also issued to interior and foreign ministry and principal secretary of Prime Minister (PM).
