11 arrested as PTI, PML-N workers clash during PP-100 by-polls

GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – As many as eleven Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) activists apprehended in a clash with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during PP-100 by-election, Dunya News reported on Sunday.

Chaudhary Akhtar Ali of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), Ihsanullah Virk of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI), and Rana Shahbaz of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are in the field.

The total number of voters in the constituency is 1,62,444 in which 95,750 are males and 66,694 are females. Election Commission has set up 130 polling stations among which 38 are for males, 36 for females and 39 are for both of them.

Besides this, 344 polling booths have been established of which 196 are reserved for males and 148 for females.

In view of peace and security situation 35 polling stations have been declared sensitive as a result of which 3300 police and Rangers personnels have been deployed to ensure security during the polling.

The seat fell vacant after assassination of Rana Shamshad Ali.
