Army gears up relief work as Layyah flood affects more than 2 lac people

Summary PMD has issued warning of strong monsoon spell in coming days.

(Web Desk) – At least 2 lac people have been affected by the recent flood situation in Layyah whereas Pakistan Army is assisting the civil administration in rescue and relief activities in the flood affected districts of Southern Punjab and Sindh.

Hundreds of villages have been wrecked due to devastated flood.

Pakistan Army personnel have established a free medical camp in district Layyah where flood victims are being provided necessary healthcare facilities.

All facilities including the food, drinking water and medicines are being provided in relief camps in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh and Layyah.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued warning of strong monsoon spell in coming days.

As per details, all spurs on River Indus in Rajanpur district are safe, while the spur in Rojhan is being strengthened to protect nearby localities.
