Summary Nisar says hate speech will be officially taken up with UK, Asif says all options can be used

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Government of Pakistan is furious over Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s speeches. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that official complaint will be launched with the United Kingdom (UK) government while Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that all options can be used. “Our hands can reach UK as well”, he said on Monday, reported Dunya News.

In a statement issued from Islamabad, Altaf Hussain’s speeches have become intolerable. Terming Altaf’s speeches as intolerable, Nisar said that no country can allow a person, sitting in another part of the world, to criticize its institutions. He said that Altaf’s speeches were tolerated as much as they could be but now government of the UK will have to be written about it.

“The more the grip is being tightened around Altaf Hussain in the UK, the more desperate he is becoming and the more disgraceful his speeches are getting about the Rangers and army”, said Nisar.

Interior Minister said that Rangers, army or the state of Pakistan are not responsible for the situation that Altaf is in. “He is in this situation because of his own deeds”, he said. “The language that Altaf used about 1971 war is exactly the language that Indian leaders use”, he added.

“Urdu-speaking community is decent and educated. Is Altaf Hussain representing the Urdu-speaking or ridiculing them?” he wondered.

On the other hand, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that he completely endorsed the statement given by the Interior Minister. “It is time now that Altaf Hussain’s case is taken up with the UK government”, he said. “Our hands can even reach UK”, he added.

Federal Minister said that all options will be utilized without taking any problems that may arise into consideration. “Karachi has been held hostage for the last 25 years. They are terrorists and we will chase them to the last mile”, he concluded.
