ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar said that an ordinance would be needed in order to end recently imposed tax on banking transactions after first phase of negotiations between government and traders ended on Wednesday.
The government has formed a 19-member committee comprising lawmakers and traders to investigate the matter.
According to details, negotiations between government and representative of traders took place at the Finance Ministry. After the session, Ishaq Dar said this tax has become an Act of Parliament and that is why it is not easy to take it back.
