Summary Afghanistan president Ashraf Ghani's statement regarding Pakistan's intervention is wrong, says FO

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Qazi Khaleelullah on Thursday has said that no contact has been made between Pakistan and India regarding meeting of both Nawaz Sharif and Narendra Modi in Russia.

He expressed these views in a weekly briefing in the FO.

He said that meeting between two leaders in international conferences is a usual matter however, there has been no contact between India and Pakistan regarding meeting in Russia.

Khaleelullah said that no reply has been received from the British authorities after a letter was dispatched about Indian intelligence agency RAW’s intervention in Pakistan. He said that Afghanistan president Ashraf Ghani’s statement regarding Pakistan’s intervention is wrong.

The authorities are not aware of Pakistani ambassador’s summoning in Kabul, he added.

While answering a question about Pakistan’s permanent ambassador to the United National (UN) Maleeha Lodhi arrival in Pakistan, the FO spokesperson said that she has come on a usual routine.

He said that officials are in contact with Saudi authorities for provision of counselor to Zaid Hamid. Earlier, Hamid was sentenced to 1,000 lashes and eight years in prison for criticising Saudi government.
