Summary The plaintiff requested the court to summon agreement of K-Electric's privatization.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – While hearing a petition submitted by Rana Faizul Hassan against recent deaths due to heat wave in Karachi, Sindh High Court`s two-member bench headed by Justice Aqeel Abbasi on Tuesday issued notices to Sindh government, K-Electric, Water Board and other concerned departments.
The petitioner prayed to court that Sindh government, K-Electric and Water Board are responsible for deaths of more than one thousand people during recent intense heat wave in the city.
He told court that K-Electric failed to generate electricity up to its capacity, resulting in water shortage across the metropolis whereas the provincial government is displaying `criminal` negligence on the matter.
The plaintiff requested the court to summon agreement of K-Electric`s privatization and action should be ordered against those responsible.
