MULTAN (Dunya News) – Former prime minister (PM) Yousaf Raza Gillani has said that he is in possession of the valuable necklace given to his wife by Turkey ex-president’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan wife.
According to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) sources, Turkish former president’s wife had given Gillani’s better-half a necklace for marriage ceremonies of as many as eight affected girls in the 2010 floods. However, according to Gillani, the market evaluation of the necklace was around Rs 2 lac but there were eight girls who were getting married in a relief-camp in Sindh. He decided to give each bride Rs 2 lac and thus he kept the necklace which was later handed over to Turkish authorities to be given to Erdogan’s wife.
He said that he shared close ties with Erdogan family and Turkish ex-president’s wife is like his sister. The necklace has been with me and is till with me, he added.
Gillani said that Erdogan family took care of his son’s honeymoon in Turkey.
