KP govt to hold APC over LB polls today

Summary ANP, PPP, PML-N and JUI-F have refused to participate in APC.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Tuesday has called on All Parties Conference (APC) over local bodies election, Dunya News reported.

As per details, the conference would be headed by Chief Minister of KP Pervez Khattak in Peshawar in which the leaders of Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) have refused to participate.

Qaumi Watan Party and government coalition parties would attend the meeting.

The meeting was called on to discuss the issue of rigging in LB polls that were held on May 30.

The participants of the meeting would give recommendations on the matter whereas the delegation would also take decision regarding re-election in the province.

On the othet hand, three of the big opposition parties ANP, PPP and JUI-F have announced strike on June 10.

According to the details, opposition parties have announced to observe a shutter-down strike on June 10. Leader of the 3-party alliance Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that pressure will be applied from all sides till government’s resignation.
