Summary Wajeehuddin is leading the tribunal as if it is the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP), says Khan
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Friday has challenged the oppostion parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to hold local body (LB) polls once again in supervision of the Pakistan Army if they have reservations over ruling parties success.
He expressed these views while casually talking to the media in the capital.
Khan said that KP revenue minister Ali Amin Gandapur had gone to the polling station to stop rigging and inspect the process.
He said that no party was targeted in the KP LB election. If one levels allegation against someone then it is only apt to listen to his side as well, he added. PT leader said that KP minister surrendered before the law enforcement department while none could touch a member of provincial assembly (MPA) in other provinces.
While commenting on the budget for the fiscal year 2015-2016 he said that there is no hope of relief for the impoverished people. It would have been better had the government focused on provision of basic facilities to the children including health and education instead of launching another bus project.
Khan said that there must be some truth to the matter if almost all the political parties of the country said that General Election 2013 was rigged.
He said that Awami National Party’s (ANP) Mian Iftikhar was not abused but Gandapur has been. Iftikhar said that the KP Police did not mistreat him, he added. Khan said that PTI has garnered success in Gilgit-Baltistan however, the ruling party is using the interim government to bribe the people ahead of polls by using money from the treasury.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) waved off Najam Sethi’s taxes worth at least Rs 1.5 crore and elected his niece as member of national assembly (MNA).
While talking about the Model Town incident, he said that Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri suffered at the hands of the government. The murderers of PAT workers were freed, he added.
Khan said that Justice (r) Wajeehuddin is leading the tribunal as if it is the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP). He further said that if the inquiry commission orders holding of elections in 2018 and not before that then PTI would conduct party polls in November.
