Summary Women were not allowed to vote, then how can you call it an election, questions MQM chief
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altag Hussain has on Monday said that all records of election rigging were broken in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) local body elections. He demanded that the elections should be declared void and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should conduct the elections again, reported Dunya News.
Altaf said that these polls could not be called as public elections since women were not allowed to vote in many areas.
Bitterly criticizing the mismanagement observed in the KP local body polls, Altaf Hussain said that no election was ever held in the history with such mass level irregularities.
Talking exclusively to Dunya News in its program ‘Siasat Hai Ya Sazish’, Altaf Hussain said that senior Awami National Party (ANP) leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain was arrested and then presented handcuffed before the court. He said that the elections were extremely violent and thus the ECP should declare it void and conduct the elections again.
