KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday has seized degrees from Axact office.
According to the details, an advanced printer was also found from the office which allegedly was used to print the degrees. However, the statements of Axact chief executive officer (CEO) Shoaib Ahmed Shaikh and other officials will be recorded at the Cyber Crime Circle department.
Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali will hold a key meeting to review the inquiry process of the matter after he issued directives to the FIA to launch an investigation into the accusations by the New York Times (NYT).
A report is also being compiled in light of the interrogation done from the Axact employees. The forensic report of the computers seized from the company’s offices is likely to be issued within 24 hours. While Axact’s regional director Col (r) Jameel and other officials are likely to be called again for interrogation.
On May 21 the FIA seized at least ten computers from the company’s Karachi office. These computers contain data of four different departments of Axact. These departments include Information Technology (IT), admin, call centre and students consultancy.
While the forensic team of the FIA will decode the computers seized from the offices. According to the sources, the data deleted from the hard drives will also be recovered.
