KARACHI (Dunya News) – Chief of Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Siraj Ul Haq said on Thursday that federal government should reveal the details of tragedy of Safoora Chowrangi with public, reported Dunya News.

Addressing the workers’ convention at MA Jinnah Road in Karachi, JI chief strongly condemned the terrorist attack at Safoora Chowrangi.

Siraj ul Haq said the details of the Karachi tragedy should be shared with public and it should be made clear to the public as to who is the beneficiary of such a heinous act.

JI chief claimed that if the provincial government had been doing its duty, the incident would not have taken place adding that the world had gone to moon while people of Karachi seek a drop of water to quench their thirst.

He alleged that employees of water board are not doing their duty appropriately and come to take their salaries only.

JI chief said that the only path to change is through ballot box and not through rifles.

Siraj ul Haq demanded that elections in Karachi and other parts of country be held with help of biometric system.

He also demanded the expulsion of ‘ghosts’ from voter lists.

The JI chief said that Karachi should not be dealt as a ‘step child’ and a package of 500 billion rupees for the city should be earmarked.
