No complaint received against any returning officer, says ex-Punjab election commissioner

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Former election commissioner of Punjab Mehboob Anwar on Monday said that he remained part of nine elections but did not receive any complaint. Similarly, no complaint was received against any returning officer during 2013 general elections.

A three-member judicial commission headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk resumed its proceedings into alleged rigging in general elections.

Salman Akram Raja, the counsel for the Election Commission, cross-examined the former Punjab election commissioner Mehboob Anwar.

To a question, Anwar said that no request was made for printing of extra ballot papers after May 7. Printing press in Islamabad printed ballot papers as per demand.
