Summary The petition stated that the trial court did not consider the age factor
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday has rejected the petition seeking establishment of a judicial commission to determine death row inmate Shafqat Hussain’s age.
Earlier, Hussain had filed a petition in the IHC urging requesting the court to form a commission to determine his controversial age. The petition stated that the trial court in 2004 in the child murder case did not consider the age factor in its verdict.
Death row inmate’s counsel said that his client was a juvenile at the time of conviction. Justice Athar Minallah had reserved the verdict on Friday after hearing the arguments of both sides. The court gave its verdict today and said that the petition is inadmissible.
