93,582 votes in NA-122 unverified, NADRA submits report to election tribunal

LAHORE (Dunya News) – National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) submitted NA-122 forensic report today (Saturday) in Election tribunal after verification of thumbprints on the votes, Dunya News reported.

The forensic report was handed over to lawyers of the parties by the Election tribunal after which Director General (DG) NADRA has been summoned on May 16 to record his statement.

Election tribunal judge Kazim Malik sent the record of 284 polling stations of NA-122 for verification to NADRA.

A report comprising of 781 pages was submitted in the tribunal after two months investigation.

According to NADRA report, a total of 1,84,151 votes were to be verified in which 73,478 votes were verified through thumbprints whereas 93,852 remain unverified.

The report states that identity card numbers on 6123 ballot papers turned out to be invalid while ID card numbers were not listed on 370 counter files.

Besides this the ID card numbers of 255 voters were written twice on counter files whereas 1715 were such votes which do not have thumbprints on counter file.

It was also found that 570 votes cast were not registered in NA-122 constituency.

Furthermore, the report also reveals that 1,36,000 votes remained unverified through electoral roll.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N’s) Sardar Ayaz Sadiq gained victory from the constituency by getting 93,379 votes whereas Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran gained 84,517 votes and scored second position.
