Summary Pakistan does not know where Daud Ibrahim is, says Khalilullah Qazi
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Khalilullah Qazi on Thursday has said that Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry had earlier raised the issue of intervention in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Balochistan with India.
He expressed these views in a media briefing in the capital.
He said that Chaudhry had earlier raised the matter of Indian intervention in FATA and Balochistan. Qazi said that Pakistan does not know where Daud Ibrahim is. India showed satisfaction over Pakistan’s stance on the matter, he added.
He said that the reservations shown by the United Nations (UN) regarding Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi have been cleared.
The new spokesperson said that Pakistan desires success of the reconciliation process in Afghanistan and expressed resolve that the country would take steps necessary in the matter. Qazi said that the embassy in Italy is in contact with the authorities there regarding the arrests of Pakistani nationals. The nationals moving abroad are vaccinated for polio, he added.
He said that the purpose of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Afghanistan is to strengthen the bilateral ties. While talking about the Saudi Arabia-Yemen clash, he said that the policy of the country is clear in the matter. Pakistan wants peace in the region, he added.
Tasneem Aslam introduced the new spokesperson. Qazi vowed to shoulder his responsibilities to the best of his abilities. He said that Pakistan and Britain share close ties and good terms. Pakistan-Britain relations are not dependent on a specific party. The election is Britain’s internal matter, he added. Qazi said that whichever party would form the government, Pakistan would maintain terms with the country.
