LAHORE (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday appointed Senator Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana as the new Governor of Punjab, Dunya News reported.
The Prime Minister sent a summary to the President recommending Rajwana for the post.
The senator belongs to southern Punjab and has been very active in politics. He remained associated with PML-N throughout his political career.
In a statement after getting new appointment, Rajwana said he will make all-out effort to serve the people of the province.
He assured the Prime Minister that he will come up to the expectations of the leadership.
The position had been vacant since Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar resigned on January 29, 2015.
