Summary NA-125 result has proven the need for judicial commission, the PTI chief said.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday demanded criminal proceedings against the negligent returning officers and presiding officers.
Talking to media after attending judicial commission’s proceedings into alleged rigging in 2013 general elections, Imran Khan said that re-elections are of no use till perpetrators of rigging are not brought to justice and punished for this crime.
He said the NA-125 result has proven the need for judicial commission.
“After NA-125 we will inshallah go to re-election in NA-122 as well,” he added.
Khan said a reformed electoral process will result in a better Pakistan. He said Pakistan will never progress till free & fair elections are not conducted.
He further remarked that senior journalist Najam Sethi, who was appointed acting chief minister of Punjab during elections, was also present in the SC building but had to sit outside of the judicial commission proceedings. Sethi was told that he would be called back when needed by the judges.
