Summary The respective departments were sealed for non-payment of property tax.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB’s) lawyer stated that the excise department has illegally sealed the offices of PCB and Gaddafi Stadium as the officers have still not issued any written notice on this act, Dunya News reported on Thursday.
Earlier, the Excise Department on early Thursday morning has sealed Gaddafi Stadium for non-payment of property tax worth Rs 48 million.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday had ordered the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to pay Rs 48 million property tax of the Gaddafi Stadium, dismissing a petition by the board against levy of the tax by the Excise Department.
The Punjab government’s counsel appraised the court on Wednesday that the PCB was using the Gaddafi Stadium for commercial purposes and was thus liable to pay tax.
