Summary It's responsibility of political parties to ensure success of billions dollar project: Ishaq Dar
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The government has decided to hold a briefing with the parliamentary leaders to address their reservations over the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor project, Dunya News reported.
Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar said that the energy projects will be tax-free and that the pension for EOBI’s retired employees has been raised from Rs 3600 to 5250 per month.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Finance Minister saod that it is the responsibility of all the political parties to play their roles for the success of Pak-China Economic Corridor project. He said that parliamentary leaders will be briefed over the project upon Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s return to the country, adding that any reservation or objection will be addressed.
Ishaq Dar said that the increase in pension fund of EOBI retired employees will put addition Rs 6 billion 67 crore burden on the government. He said the government is also mulling over increase in pension of retired government employees.
The federal minister further told that the government is preparing to send relief items to quake-hit Nepal, adding that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has started taking steps in this regard.
