LHC dismisses plea filed against closing Lahore markets at 8pm

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday has disposed off the petition filed against closing markets in Lahore at 8pm, Dunya News reported.

Justice Ejaz-ul-Hassan heard the plea, filed by the Secretary General Anjuman-e-Taajran Naeem Mir, in which the plaintiff told the court that load shedding has already affected the business badly due to which the merchants cannot afford further loss due to this new schedule.

The petitioner further demanded to halt the schedule of closing markets at 8pm. Honorable judge remarked that from where the citizens would get electricity if the shops remain open till 1am in the night.

The apex court argued that it’s a matter of policy and government, therefore, the court has no right to interfere in it.
