Summary IG Punjab has been requested by DPO Nankana to deploy 550 police, elite officers on Baisakhi
LAHORE: (Daily Dunya) – District Police Officer (DPO) Nankana Sahib has on Thursday requested Inspector General (IG) Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera to provide him with 550 Elite Force and police officers for maintaining security during Baisakhi festival, reported Daily Dunya.
However, IG office has agreed to provide 400 police officers while 60 Elite Force personnel.
It is pertinent to mention here that people from far flung areas come to Nankana for celebrating Baishkhi festival while sikh pilgrims also come to Pakistan from India on this occasion. Last year, the festival was attended by 8000 people.
